This story captures a six-day journey taken by 15-year-old Dain and her mother, who travel to the Mongolian desert with her mother's high school friends. Told from both the mother’s and daughter’s perspectives, the travel narrative offers a unique reflection on the cyclical bond of life between mother and daughter.
Sukhee, the mother, remembers her own past, when she both hated and longed for her own mother’s love, and realizes that her daughter, Dain, who often irritates her with a sulky expression and thinks she knows it all, is also seeking love and attention. Despite the conflicts they face throughout the trip, the mother and daughter listen to each other on the flight back home, forming a shared understanding and discovering the path to reconciliation.
