The book inspired by the famous painting "Qingming shanghe tu " (Ascending the River at Qingming Festival) .The Writer made Zhang Zeduan, the painter of "Qingming shanghe tu " incarnate the protagonist Duan'er, a child, and arranged for him to look for magpies on the day of Qingming Festival. In Chinese culture, magpies symbolize happiness. So the cover design includes the magpie, the diamond stripe representing Duan Er, and the elements of "Qingming shanghe tu " .The whole book unfolds like an organ, with design on both sides.In the front story, the Illustrator used a combination of paper-cut, colored pencils and pencils, drawing on the bright style of chinoiserie. In the back game pages , the protagonist and the puppy hide in "Qingming shanghe tu " , and interact with the people in the painting.The front is Duan Er's perspective, and the back is Magpie's perspective.The design team followed the way of reading ancient paintings and ancient books, chose accordion binding and vertical textt. And up the first word of each paragraph to guide modern young readers to understand the reading order. We use  super feeling paper to print, which has a warm feel and excellent color rendering. The overall design strives to make the past serve the present, and make it renewed through time.
