三毛流浪记
Sanmao is a comic character created by Zhang Leping in 1935, the name Sanmao meaning "three hairs" in Chinese. Created between 1947 and 1949, Wanderings of Sanmao had been serialized in Ta Kung Pao, with 261 sets of comics in total. The cartoon tells the story about a lonely, helpless street child Sanmao’s tragic experience, shows Sanmao’s integrity and kindness, self-reliance, brave, smart, witty, and optimistic attitude. In 2000, “Wanderings of Sanmao” was selected into the “Reading Guidance Catalogue for Primary and Middle School Students” released by the Ministry of Education, and became one of the compulsory books for students at third and fourth grade in primary schools.
