Text Olga Černá & Illustrations Miroslav Šašek
The diary of a naturalist who, in the era of steam and great voyages, shipwrecked on a desert island, thereby discovering many curious animals, is sure to captivate and amuse readers, young and old. The double headed meadow squirrel, the sugarbearing lemoniac or the one-horned tufiezh are but a fragment of the creatures for which any zoo director would give half his zoo and a panda to boot just to lay eyes upon... And perhaps you will even find a trace of the mysterious island dweller: has he indeed vanished, or is he still there somewhere?
The notes, missing for over a hundred years, were discovered and readied for publishing by Olga Černá, illustrations of fantastic beasts were acquired by world famous globetrotter, Miroslav Šašek.
