Nina Pavlova
The First School Term
Rita and her friend Ksyusha go to school for the first time. Actually, they do not want to go to school, since they can neither read nor write, and rumor has it that they are not allowed to jump on the desks. But it can’t hurt to try. The girls made up their minds, and they didn't regret it. School life went full steam ahead immediately!
First graders took part in the school sports day, made an unforgettable present to their teacher, summoned the Queen of Spades, opened a detective agency, made a mess in the pets’ corner, and fought the zombies... In short, the first term was great! An incredibly funny new book by the wonderful creative tandem: Nina Pavlova, a finalist
for the Chukovsky Prize, and Andrey Krysov, an artist who won the Image of the Book Award.
• A book for first graders helping to adapt to school
• The stories are filled with the author’s excellent humor understood by both adults and children
• Illustrator Andrey Krysov perfectly embodied the images of modern schoolchildren; each of his characters is a bright personality.
