A documentary picture book that captures the vibrant life of Jeju, not as a tourist destination, but as a place where people live.
From Gosan Port on the western coast to the Jeoji Oreum Observatory in the mid-mountain region, this book showcases the rare and beautiful treasures of Jeju. It was created over several years by Kim Dong-seong, the author of "Waiting for Mom." This non-fiction picture book features the wind turbines along the Sinchang coast, the female divers and cuttlefish of Gosan Port, Neolithic ruins beneath Dangsanbong, the natural monument Jeju ponies, the chair park in Ahobgud Village, and the white tangerine blossoms blooming in citrus orchards, alongside the rapeseed and radish flowers of spring. To capture the real life of Jeju beyond its tourist spots, the author climbed a 20-meter crane and explored the island on foot, resulting in this remarkable documentary picture book.
