THE INSPIRATION
When she was a little girl in Venezuela, Marianne Ferrer used to get very angry when people called her Mariana. Her name is very important to her and it has a whole history! Her grandfather wanted to give the name Marianne to his daughter, born on July 14, the day of the Bastille Day, a symbolic date in France. For him, the Marianne of the French nation embodied strength and courage. He finally named her
Maria Liliana... He died when Maria Liliana was still a child, leaving a huge gap. But she named her own daughter Marianne to pass on her grandfather's sensitive and creative spirit. Marianne carries this history and heritage with pride. Roots is a tribute to those who made her what she is today.
