The Malan Village in Fuping County, Hebei Province, was a place without music and sound of singing 15 years ago. Now, a small band of children from Malan Village can play the world famous song "Ode to Joy" by the stream or in the valley, or they can perform "Fields of Hope" with the choir of the General's descendants at the Beijing Spring Festival Gala. All these changes are attributed to the selfless contribution of DENG Xiaolan, an elderly lady who has been working for the past 15 years.
