A Crawling Ant
This poetic and philosophical title is created by children's literature scholar and writer ZHAO Xia, and illustrator HUANG Ying. It tells a seemingly simple story with rich connotation. An ant unfolds fantasy of becoming a variety of other animals and thus having different situations. The ending of the story is surprising but within reason. The ant returns from fantasy to reality, and the ant's expectation of the role of life also returns from "others" to "self", thus completing the "self". The story gives children a wealth of imagination and start them on a wonderful journey of self-discovery.
