Shanghai Lexicographical Publishing House (SLPH) is a large comprehensive publisher with a history over 60 years. Specialized in publishing all kinds of reference books, it is also engaged in the general book fields, such as political science, philosophy, history, sociology and popular science. SLPH puts out more than 500 titles (new and reprinted) every year. Many books published by SLPH were awarded the State Book Award, China Dictionary Award, etc. In 1994, it was honored by the General Administration of Press and Publication of China as the National Excellent Publisher. There are eight editing departments, 33 senior editors, 73 editors and 25 assistant editors here. SLPH is among the publishers who developed international cooperation in the earliest time in China. Up to now, it has put out more than 300 titles of translation, and licensed over 100 titles to overseas publishers, cooperating with major publishers in USA, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Australia, Japan, Singapore, and Korea.
